The authors want to alert readers to the following errors identified in three statements of the Material section in the published version.

At page 1 and 2 Material section under heading ‘‘Material and methods’’ second sentence should be, ‘Oslo University Hospital, Rikshospitalet, initiated registration of all Norwegian children with complex congenital heart defects (CHD) in 1990’. Fourth sentence should be ‘All operations (except on the nine patients at Haukeland) were recorded prospectively from 1 January 1990 to 31 December 2020, along with dates of death from the Norwegian population registry’.

Seventh sentence should be ‘‘Among the 72 patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) operated from 1990 to 2001, 46 (63.9%) were operated in USA (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia). Nine non-HLHS UVH patients were operated at another Norwegian Hospital (Haukeland University Hospital) and 5 operated in England’’.
