==== Body
pmcDear Members and Colleagues,

I am deeply honored and thrilled to address you for the first time as the new president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology (ASPC). It is a privilege to lead an organization that is at the forefront of preventive cardiology, dedicated to improving cardiovascular health and saving lives. I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our current members for your unwavering commitment and dedication. Your passion and efforts are the driving forces behind our society's success.

1 Welcoming new members

For those who are not yet members, I warmly invite you to join our vibrant and dynamic community. Membership is free for all trainees, offering an excellent opportunity to connect with leading experts, access cutting-edge research, and contribute to the future of cardiovascular disease prevention. As a member of the ASPC, you will have the chance to engage with a network of professionals who share a common goal: to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease through prevention.

2 ASPC congress on cardiovascular disease prevention

I am delighted to share the incredible success of our recent ASPC Congress on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention, held from August 2–4, 2024 in Salt Lake City. This year, we celebrated our largest and most successful congress to date, with 420 registered participants and 130 abstracts on display. The congress featured a diverse array of sessions, including abstract presentations, debates, joint society sessions, case presentations, and poster sessions, all designed to highlight the latest advances in preventive cardiology. We were also pleased to host several international faculty from Australia, Canada, Denmark, Poland, Spain, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

The level of engagement and the quality of presentations were truly outstanding. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from leading experts, exchange ideas, and network with colleagues from around the world. The atmosphere was electric, filled with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to advancing our field. We also featured our first Lifestyle Masterclass prior to the Congress. This pre-course was co-chaired by Drs. Heather Johnson and Barry Franklin and early feedback from participants was uniformly positive.

3 Recognizing excellence

Special congratulations to our trainees and early career abstract presenters. Their innovative research exemplifies the excellence we strive for in our society. The winner of the Early Career Research Presentation was Shoa Clarke, MD, PhD, with second and third places awarded to Sarkis Bouladian, BS and Camila Freire, MD, respectively. In the Oral Abstract Presentations, first place went to Ashish Sarraju, MD, with Nathan Wong, PhD, and Matthew Ambrosio, MS, taking second and third places. All of their contributions are highly valued and essential to the advance of preventive cardiology.

4 Future initiatives and member engagement

As we look to the future, I am excited to announce several new initiatives aimed at fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth within our society. We are always eager to hear from our members, and your ideas and feedback are crucial in shaping the future of the ASPC. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your thoughts and suggestions.

5 New workgroups

We will be launching new workgroups focused on key areas of preventive cardiology. These workgroups will provide a platform for members to collaborate on specific projects, share knowledge, and drive forward our collective mission. Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved. Your participation and expertise are vital to the success of these initiatives.

6 Continuous learning and professional development

In addition to our workgroups, we are committed to providing continuous learning and professional development opportunities for our members. We will be introducing new courses, webinars, and master classes designed to keep you at the cutting edge of preventive cardiology. Our goal is to ensure that you have access to the latest research, best practices, and tools needed to excel in your practice and make a meaningful impact on patient care.

7 ASPC's commitment to diversity and inclusion

We are also committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within our society. Preventive cardiology is a global field, and we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences enhance our ability to innovate and improve cardiovascular health outcomes. We will continue to support initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we encourage all members to get involved and contribute to these efforts.

8 Looking ahead

In future "President's Page" updates, I will keep you informed about the current and upcoming initiatives of the ASPC. Together, we will continue to advance the field of preventive cardiology and improve cardiovascular health for all. Our collective efforts, dedication, and passion are the keys to our success, and I am confident that we will achieve great things together.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication. I look forward to working with all of you to make the ASPC an even stronger force in preventive cardiology.

Warm regards
